Embarking on a canoe trip to see Gambia’s wildlife

I am a journalist who would love to write more about wildlife, the environment, travel, diving and snowboarding. I am also interested in photography and all the latest gadgets.
After leaving the University of Liverpool with a degree in marine biology, I took my first trip abroad to work with the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece, in Crete. This was one of the best periods of my life: I worked hard, played hard and fell in love with the animals and the scenery.
Running out of money, I returned to Ipswich and got a job with what was then Eastern Counties Newspaper Group, now Archant Suffolk.
I stayed there for 12 years, starting out as a graphic designer, becoming a reporter and leaving as a page editor.
Voluntary redundancy was my cue to leave, as the role was changing and I wanted to head to London after a spot of travelling.
I have written features for Executive PA magazine, spent 7 years as chief subeditor on the city desk at the Sunday Express and wrote travel articles and news stories when I could find the time. I also have an extensive knowledge of personal finance affairs.
I would be interested in any commissions on any of these topics, but am willing to have a go at anything.
